Chinese PCs for you! I had literally just finished writing this blog update when a combination of keys (unknown to me) led to the contents of this email disappearing before my very eyes. This has happened already and is going beyond joke! So quick recap on today - a busy day.
First up was the second and final instalment of my cooking class. It was good fun again this morning, Amy - our Chinese teacher - was on good form again. I had a different set of cooking companions this time, a couple from Eindhoven and two English girls. There were good cooking companions. I would try and pretend that I could remember the exact nature of each plate I prepared, but that would be lying! And I also have the recipe book, so I didn't have to memorise them...
Second up, I took a bamboo raft tour down the River Yulong, a tributary of the River Li.

It was great, the scenery was fantastic and I took lots of pictures and videos!
From time to time, I had to help the boatman carry the raft over the dams which added to the excitement.
Third up, this evening I went to a light show by the river. This was spectacular and well worth attending, together with the other thousands!
The backdrop was amazing, the karsts and the river looked great. The show itself was similar to a son et lumiere but was one of the best I have ever seen!
Hundreds of performers, some on bamboo rafts, dancers, singers - the whole thing! And a love story, well it is China!
I met a Canadian chap there on the same tour bus as myself so I afterwards we grabbed some food together. Now I have to dash to bed as the night is late already and I shall be getting up at 6h30 tomorrow to go cycling with Farmer Yuan - I am not making this up! It's meant to be followed by lunch so it could be a very tiring and hot day - wish me luck!!
More to follow,
Rob
